5 Card Stud

Five Card Stud poker is a very similar game to Seven Card Stud. It shares the same rules except that it is possible to have up to ten players. The important difference lies in the number of face down, or “hole” cards are dealt to each player, in Five Card Stud there is one instead of two.

Game Sequence

As in Seven Card Stud, “Antes”, a portion of the low bet limit, are placed by each player at the beginning of the round. This is followed by the players single “hole” card being dealt. There are a total of four community cards. These are the three “street” cards, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Street and finally the “River” card.

There is one less betting round than in Seven Card Stud; this is because there is one less “street” card. The betting order is also determined in the same way as Seven Card Stud and the betting options are the same. As usual, the hand with the highest poker rank wins the round. After this a new round begins.
