Poker Tournaments
A Sit ‘N’ Go is a competition in which one competes against a single table of other players until the point at which only one of them is left standing. In such a game, the players are ranked according to the time they managed to stay in the game. A Multi-table tournament, on the other hand, is a competition in which there are many tables-worth of players competing. These tables are slowly eliminated until a single table of players is left. The tables are eliminated by transferring players to tables with spare places. Again, the players are ranked according to the time they managed to stay in the game. Tournament play differs from the standard Real Money mode of play by the following key differences: Players can sign up to play at one of William Hill Poker’s range of tournaments by clicking on the ‘Tournaments’ tab in the lobby of the software. This area lists all the available tournaments, their names, classification, number of players, buy-in, time, date and more. Clicking on any of the tournaments will open a panel on the right of the screen which will display additional information. Simply select the tournament that you wish to register for and click the ‘Register now’ button. You will be asked to confirm your decision; by clicking on ‘Yes’ the tournament you are registered for will now have a tick next to it. The tournament will begin as soon as all the places are filled. The first half of the buy-in (e.g. the $20 in “$20 + $2’) represents the amount of the fee you are paying that will be added to the prize pool, while the second part of the buy-in ($2) represents the fee that the house takes for having organised the tournament. Players are able to cancel their registration in a tournament at any time so long as it has not yet started. This can be done by clicking on ‘Unregister’ next to the tournament you have registered for. An information box will appear on your screen when the tournament is about to start. This happens once all the seats in the tournament have been filled. Choose the option ‘Take me to the tournament’ in order to be seated at your table. The prize-pool is distributed amongst the winners by the system, which simply credits their accounts. In most tournaments, it is the first, second and third players that receive a certain percentage of the prize-pool. If your internet connection disconnects whilst in the middle of a tournament, the system will automatically “post and fold” your hand, meaning that your blinds will be posted and your hand folded when it is your turn to play. No – our Bad Beat Jackpot or monthly bonuses are not applicable to tournaments. What is the difference between a Sit ‘N’ Go tournament and a Multi-table Tournament?
