Wednesday Evening continued..
It turned out that there were more names down to sing for the Karaoke at Sugar's than Michael Jackson has had hit singles. Still it saved us from Nat's rendition of Copacabana and James & 'Bigmac's version of Sweet La La La La La Long.
'PKRKING's better half did get a whirl though and delighted the screaming hoards by belting out 'Lipstick on your collar'. Great show!
There was no let up at Sugar's pool table either, as Ken and David were taking on all-comers for $20 a pop. But even this was eclipsed by the mini drama which unfolded as a result of Nat going AWOL (well just to the left of the main door). A military style search and rescue mission followed, which ended by one bright spark taking a left instead of all of us following David Hood to the right. Genius!
Back at the Poker the Hills' players were again covering themselves in glory.
'Top_Dog' became the 20th William Hill player to qualify for the final tournament on Friday, after getting through a long Super Satellite.
Then 'JDJUNIOR' scooped a $6,000 windfall after splitting the winners and runners up prize in the $300 + $30 tournament
A great night had by all.
Thursday.
7.4, is that good? Well in Earthquake measurements I reckon that's pretty decent.
Thankfully (for us anyway) it happened on a neighbouring island, however it was still enough for our Marriott hotel to shake like a man who has just been given pocket aces on the final table of the World Series. Scary!
I know we keep going on about it, but the Hills poker players are on fire at present.
In the biggest tournament so far, $400 + $40, 6 players agreed to split the prizepool, 3 of which were Hills players. Each bagged $5,000. So a special mention to all of them. 'noatima', 'jackseye' and 'Holland_'.
'Jackseye' belied his inexperience in live tournaments with some strong calls and, at one stage, fended off a ferocious Swedish onslaught.
'Holland_' on the other hand is a past master of this game having previously bagged $300,000 when claiming 6th place in the WSOPE. On his way to a share of the prize on Thursday he hit a Royal Flush. Some people get all the luck! Well played Holland_. He must be one of the favourites for the CPC too.
