One hundred and thirty players returned for the second day of the Warsaw EPT attempting to win the 1st prize of over 460K.
Unfortunately, Julian Thew did not come back with a huge stack and ran K-5 into Andreas Hagen's A-K early on. Other British prospects did not fair well either, both Marc Goodwin and Dan Carter also didn't manage to make the money. One Brit who is still in the remaining 26 players for Day 3, is Craig Hopkins, who also recently finalled the EPT in the Bahamas. Other 'name' players still in include Andy Black, whilst former EPT finalists Trond Eidsvig and Sebastian Ruthenberg also remain in the hunt.
Leading the way though is Juan Maceiras, who finished 9th at EPT Barcelona, thanks to a lot of luck after he moved all-in on a J-5-5 board with 8-8 only to find that Dennis Petronack had been slowplaying A-A behind him. Maceiras hit an Eight on the turn and finished the day as chip leader with nearly 400k. Close behind him, is the Dane Claus Nielsen, who earlier in the EPT season was just a blogger with a Danish Poker site, but now finds himself within touching distance of a major cash prize.
