GUKPT Bolton - Day 2
Although William Hill's Julian Thew couldn't quite make it through to Day 2, a number of similarly big names did including Marc Goodwin, James Akenhead, Ali Mallu and defending champion Paul Bracken. Perhaps most notable in his presence was fellow EPT winner Andreas Hoivold, the Norwegian pro starting the day with 81,125 and looking to become the first overseas player to take down a GUKPT title.
GUKPT - Thanet
A grand total of 96 runners and alternates assortedly made it all the way down to the sunny British coastal region of Thanet, out of the sunshine and into the G Casino Thanet for Day 1a of the GUKPT. Among their number were notably William Hill's own Julian Thew, eager to take a shot at his third GUKPT title, along with fellow GUKPT champions Sam Trickett, Jerome Bradpiece, Tony Cascarino and a rather hungover Dave Colclough.
EPT London
With sounds from the WSOPE echoing distantly from a nearby district of London, the eyes of the poker world were diverted to the hostoric location of the Vic Casino for the opening day of the London EPT. The success of the opening leg of the EPT in Barcelona boded well for this leg of the tour and this was backed up by the veritable swarms of players that descended on the Vic looking to buy a seat and take part in the tournament.

EPT Final day
Having evened the stacks through a long night's play the previous day, the final eight players reconvened promising a hard-fought battle for the top spots, with everyone's eyes on the cool seven figures up for grabs along with the first EPT title of Season Five.
