Newcastle GUKPT - Final Day
With the field whittled down to just nine from the 189 that started, the remaining players reconvened at Grosvenor Newcastle today to battle it out for the serious money at the top. And with 9th place receiving just 4,725 pounds and the top place paying out 57,175 pounds plus a seat to the Grand Final and a rather unusual cobalt blue glass brick of a trophy, there was obviously a lot at stake.
Newcastle GUKPT - Day 1A
With a number of players seemingly keeping their powder dry for the Word Series of Poker, or simply unwilling to make the journey to the North East, the GUKPT managed 65 runners for it's event here in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Those who did make the journey however were treated to a sumptuous buffet of high quality that one could argue was worth the trip alone.
