Leighton's arrival into the poker world was a result of too much to drink on a Thursday night out in Cardiff. Arriving back at his hotel from the Philharmonic fun pub Leighton followed a waiter carrying a tray of drinks into a private poker game. Here he saw Jesse May and screamed "Oh my god it's Jesse May!" As a result, he was invited to attend the heat of the Grand Prix being filmed the next day.
